Joy Division’s visual language — Peter Saville’s record sleeves, the monochrome palette and the band’s refusal to appear on their own covers — became almost as influential as the music itself. Putting that imagery on pink is a pop recontextualisation of that legacy: the same cultural codes, shifted into a different visual language.
