WHO WE ARE
Come On is a genderless, timeless, and ageless brand. Established in 2019 in Miami, this versatile clothing brand is inspired by punk culture and surrealism. Come On’s designs are classic and defiant, applying a modern twist to heritage tailoring traditions.
Come On’s vision is to erase the rules that determine why, how, and where each piece should be worn. For those thirsty for a fashion experience that’s different from the norm, for those seeking the classic style of a well-made suit while maintaining a ludic spirit, for those committed to responsible production and responsible consumption.
Genderless: 90% of Come On pieces are born from unisex patterns. Our clients like our concept or esthetic, and feel respected.
Timeless: Come on pieces can be collected and curated. Our designs are made to last for decades. Never becomes obsolete.
Ageless: Since Come On doesn’t believe in labels, anybody of any age can use our pieces.
Our challenge is to maintain the brand’s ethos. We’d like to be able every day to push boundaries in design, in the quality of our products, and in consumer habits. We believe in insisting on the brand’s concept at all times.
THE BEGINNINGS
Come On was born with heavy inspiration from cinema, music, photography, and various cultural movements. An idea Florencia Macri, Creative Director of the brand, had in 2019. Autodidactic, curious, observant and intuitive, studied cinema and photography, and Come On was the convergence of these things amongst others.
She traveled to Paris with the intention of acquiring the fabrics that were eventually used in the first collection. Tartan would be the main choice for all of Come On´s future lines, because it shows the influence of punk culture and aesthetic behind the narrative.
In Paris, together with artist friends they started shaping the concept of the brand, doing photos and videos.
After buying the main fabrics, Florencia returned to Miami and found a warehouse in the Little River District that soon became Come On’s workshop, microfactory, showroom and offices.
Fashion Designer Pia Barberis joined the team and materialized the designs featured in Come On’s first collection, a pret-a-couture capsule, inspired by Punk and Glam. After many months of work, ups and downs, running around trying to create patterns, and surfing all the difficulties brought by a pandemic, the team was able to create a genderless, timeless and versatile line, with classic and defiant designs, and incorporating old tailor traditions with a modern twist.
SUBCULTURE
Since the brand’s inception, Come On has paid homage to iconic music and movies, Punk, Post Punk, New Wave and Indie, among other genres, as well as cult classic movies, and various cultural movements.
With references to cultural landmarks such as “Stranger than Paradise” by Jim Jamusch, and iconic bands like New Order, Joy Division, Bauhaus. Sonic Youth, and The Jesus and Mary Chain, amongst others. These tributes testify to Come On’s ongoing dedication to celebrating the intersection of fashion, music and cinema.
Come On is ludic, like Punk, Fashion and Surrealism.
In punk culture we find the musical and cultural, the attitude, the autonomy of the punk rock ethos, the independence, disruption, rebellion and freedom of expression; being authentic, not asking for permission and not explaining oneself. Also, the disinterest of the opinion of others, the non-prejudice, the unapologetic, and the romantic and melancholic of these concepts, and going towards the past with references and winks. A brand that also aims to transmit the nostalgia of the analogic and reformulates concepts and occasions of use.
In Surrealism we find inspiration in cinema, Luis Buñuel, Man Ray, Duchamp, Leger, amongst others, the irrational unconscious and arbitrary, everything is possible, no rules.
The irrational and unconscious as a means to change life, society, art, people through revolution.
In Come On we transmit the concept of Freedom and create a new space for self-expression and autonomy: real, unreal, surreal, unapologetic spaces.
We are inspired by how people interpret our designs, how they express themselves with our pieces, and we encourage them to send us their photos, to create a community of #ComeOnPeople.
We consider the wearing of our clothes to be a reciprocal act, an exchange of ideas between designer and customer. We love to see how Come On People freely wear, reimagine, and combine our pieces to create their own unique looks; and the concept of unapologetically breaking protocol is well established within the brand.
We also support artists and live music around the world, from DJs to bands and musicians with a shared love for the arts:
